Senior
Summer Assignment
These tasks will be due First Class In September but will count as a project and grade. If you fail to do the tasks below, it will reflect on your grade. You do have 3 weeks once we return to work on it OUTSIDE OF CLASS. You will not have in class time to work on this since you will be starting your Project 10 in August. You will use the same layout for all the tasks that we have used all year. Your Project 10 will include a research, critique, project plan, and process pages.
- Research, Critique, Project Plan, & Process Pages
Research & Critique - You are REQUIRED to find a piece of artwork that is located in the Kansas City Metro area. You will use this artwork for your critique and then research that artist. You will follow the same parameters as before for your research and critique.
Project Plan - you need to create a 1 page project plan influenced by the artwork critiqued. Use the same parameters as we used all year
Process Pages - you need to create 4 or more process pages to go with your new project.
Everything together will be worth 20 points (all or nothing grade)
- Creating Project 9 (Summer Artwork Project)
You will create a piece of artwork using the project plan and along side your process pages
You can check out whatever materials you need from the art room. Yes, you might be choosing the medium before you even find or see the artwork that you will be inspired by. That is ok. Use that artwork’s concepts, motifs, or techniques as your inspiration.
Clay and oil paint are off limits as they require the studio to make those artwork and have high failure rates if taken home.
Project is worth 50 points (all or nothing grade)
- (Optional) Update/Redo a Past Artwork
You can take home a piece or multiple pieces to redo or touch up over the summer.
You can take home any materials you need to redo or touch up
This is an optional project and does not receive a grade.
I recommend documenting changes and updates to these project for your process pages.
